This week, Hawthorne Community Center is celebrating the fabulous 50 years that our retiring Executive Director Diane Arnold has dedicated to the center with two days of celebration. (We thought about 50 days of parties, but decided we might be too tired after that!)

Diane Arnold Celebration – Day 1

Please join the Hawthorne Board of Directors and Staff for a reception honoring Diane’s 50 years of service this Thursday, November 2.  The event will be full of special guests and surprises. It’s scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Special remarks will take place around 6:30 p.m.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served at the event in Hawthorne’s Community Room.  Everyone is welcome!

Diane Arnold Celebration – Day 2

Then put on your dancing shoes Friday night for Fifties Fest! Dance and share stories about Diane during this sock hop which begins at 6:30 p.m.

The soda shop will be serving hot dogs, coney dogs, nachos, brownies and pink lemonade.

Honoring Diane

We’ve been asked about gifts for Diane Arnold.  She’s said the best gift possible would be a donation to fund the center, which has been such a huge part of her life.  You can donate by visiting https://www.hawthornecenter.org/get-involved/ and giving online. You can also mail a check to Hawthorne and put “In Honor of Diane Arnold” in the memo line.

We hope you’ll join us to celebrate Diane Thursday and/or Friday.  If you can’t make it, don’t worry!  Diane won’t be officially retiring until January, so you’ll have plenty of time to catch up with her and tell her how special she truly is.
