How can we help you build a budget that works for your household and plan for your financial future?
Financial coaches are available to assist with establishing financial goals for each clients’ needs. Financial Coaches will partner with clients to create personalized budgets, and access banking tools like savings and checking accounts. In addition, coaches assist with credit repair and creating a plan to spend down debt and prepare for large purchases like a home or car.

Income Support Coaching
How can we help you support your family make ends meet?
In some cases, a job is not enough to make ends meet. We know many of our neighbors face a gap between what you earn and the costs of basic living expenses. We can provide information, referrals and support with applying for public benefits. In addition, Coaches can connect clients to additional resources like transportation support, food and clothing pantries and support accessing and maintaining housing.

Two Generation and Family Programs
Are you a family with children that could use support with meeting household employment, financial, health, educational and childcare goals?
Our Family Coaches work with your family to set goals for your children’s education, your career aspirations, financial security, health and connection to the community. Family Coaches will then work with your household on a long-term basis to support you in meeting those goals.

Immigrant Services
How can we help you navigate your needs?
Hawthorne Community Center is providing services to our foreign-born community members. Staff is tasked with assisting clients in preparing forms, connecting them with resources such as attorney referrals, consulate referrals, and other community resources as needed. We also strive to provide educational sessions and material for our clients.

Are you are older adult looking for opportunities to socialize and participate in engaging activities?
This program is designed to provide seniors with regular opportunities for social interaction, enriching activities, hot and nutritious meals, health screenings and nutritional information, and field trips to local attractions.

Free Tax Preparation
How can we help supplement food and basic needs?
Hawthorne Community Center is part of Indy Free Tax Prep, Central Indiana’s Network for Free Tax Preparation. As part of the IRS’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, we offer free tax preparation and other services to eligible residents.

Employment Coaching
How can we support you finding a job or advancing to an even better job?
Our career and employment services include in-depth career readiness training, support with job searches and the application process, direct employment placement, educational and career planning, connection to High School Equivalency (HSE) and English as a New Language (ENL) programs in addition to credentialing programs catered to your specific gifts, talents, and interests.
