Corporate partners help fund the important work we do every day here at Hawthorne. I want to highlight one right now. Carter-Lee ProBuild signed on as the presenting sponsor of the recent Hootenanny Fiesta at a time when we really needed their support.
Hawthorne has been going through some hard times. We’re experiencing a funding shortfall because of increased demand for our services and the loss of some funding sources. We’ve reduced spending, eliminated three positions, renegotiated vendor contracts, reduced some employee hours and halted staff overtime.
However, we’re grateful corporate partners like Carter-Lee ProBuild are helping out. They are making it possible for us to continue hosting events like the Hootenanny Fiesta, paying salaries and keeping the lights on. We can’t thank them enough.
Corporate partner Carter-Lee ProBuild
Carter-Lee ProBuild (many of you may remember it by its former name Carter-Lee Lumber Company) was founded in the 1870’s by George H. Carter and Silas A. Lee and has been located on West Washington Street since 1883.
The company says it has been Central Indiana’s largest building materials supplier since 1873. Today, it has a 15-acre lumber yard, window and trim showroom and offers custom milled doors and mouldings.
This isn’t the first time Carter-Lee ProBuild has supported Hawthorne Community Center and I am so thankful for their continued interest and funding. I hope you will, in turn, support this gem in our neighborhood whenever you need building materials.
